Birth 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray

Jonathan Glazer’s second feature is a haunting cinematic enigma that delves into the mysteries of the heart. Nicole Kidman gives a richly layered performance as Anna, a widow still grieving the death of her husband ten years on, whose life is unsettled when she encounters Sean, a ten-year-old boy who claims to be her husband reincarnated. As Anna is drawn into this unsettling claim, she is forced to confront her unresolved grief, longing, and desire. Shot with painterly restraint by Harris Savides and underscored by Alexandre Desplat’s hypnotic orchestral score, Birth treats its provocative premise with unwavering seriousness, unfolding as a deeply affecting meditation on love that transcends the physical.
