The film
About the film
Academy Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro reimagines Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein as a visually breathtaking and deeply human gothic tragedy. Told through the intertwined perspectives of the brilliant yet emotionally detached Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac) and the abandoned creature he brings to life (Jacob Elordi), the film transforms the classic horror tale into a poignant exploration of fathers, sons and the lasting impact of trauma. Decades in the making, del Toro’s passionate vision combines operatic storytelling, extraordinary craftsmanship and haunting emotional depth into one of his most personal and ambitious films.
