About the film
You'll wish it were only a nightmare...
Twenty-five years after the tragic drowning of a young boy named Jason Voorhees, Camp Crystal Lake is finally set to reopen. As a group of enthusiastic counsellors prepare the camp for a new season, the idyllic lakeside setting seems far removed from the dark events that once haunted the area.
But when a violent storm cuts the camp off from the outside world, a mysterious killer begins stalking the grounds. One by one, the counsellors fall victim to a series of brutal murders, transforming a summer retreat into a terrifying fight for survival.
Directed by Sean S. Cunningham, Friday the 13th became a landmark horror phenomenon, launching one of cinema's most iconic franchises and helping define the slasher genre for generations. Packed with suspense, shocking kills and unforgettable horror imagery, this classic remains essential viewing for horror fans worldwide.
