Meet the Parents is a comedy directed by Jay Roach and stars Ben Stiller as Greg Focker, a well-meaning but accident-prone nurse who travels to meet his girlfriend’s family before proposing. Greg hopes to impress his girlfriend Pam’s parents, but immediately finds himself under suspicion from her intimidating father Jack Byrnes, played by Robert De Niro.

As a series of disastrous misunderstandings and humiliating accidents unfold, Greg’s attempts to win over the family only make things worse. Jack, a stern former CIA agent, subjects Greg to increasingly uncomfortable tests while Greg struggles to survive one awkward situation after another. Blending cringe comedy with family dysfunction, the film became a major hit and launched a successful comedy franchise.
