About the film
Release Date: TBC
Set in a dystopian near‑future, The Running Man reimagines the classic survival‑game premise as a brutal televised spectacle. The protagonist, Ben Richards (Glen Powell), is a working‑class man forced to join the deadly game show when the only way to secure medical care for his sick daughter is to survive 30 days on the run. Once the hunt begins, Richards must evade elite "Hunters," hostile citizens and constant surveillance, all while being broadcast to a society that treats death as entertainment. The film blends frenetic action, social commentary on media‑driven violence and class inequality, and Edgar Wright’s signature kinetic direction. As Richards fights for survival, the movie becomes a broader critique of spectacle culture, desperation and systemic failure Ñ a high‑octane thrill ride with a sharp dystopian edge.
