The Stunt Man Ð Limited Edition Blu-ray

Cameron (Steve Railsback, Lifeforce) is a man adrift in post-Vietnam America Ñ a fugitive on the run, scarred by war and pursued by the law. In a desperate attempt to escape, he stumbles onto the set of a World War I film directed by the wildly egotistical Eli Cross (Peter OÕToole, Lawrence of Arabia). When the productionÕs lead actor dies during a stunt, Cameron seizes the opportunity for anonymity, slipping into the role of stunt double and hiding in plain sight among the chaos of filmmaking.

But nothing on an Eli Cross set is quite what it seems. As Cameron becomes entangled in the directorÕs manipulative world, the boundary between illusion and reality begins to dissolve. Is he simply performing dangerous stunts, or being pushed toward something far more sinister? Locked in a psychological game with a possibly unhinged genius, CameronÕs grip on truth, trust and even his own identity begins to unravel.

Newly restored in 4K, The Stunt Man is a genre-defying cult classic Ñ equal parts thriller, satire and cinematic love letter. Despite limited distribution on its original 1980 release, the film earned three Academy Award nominations, including Best Director for Richard Rush. With spectacular action, razor-sharp meta-commentary and one of Peter OÕTooleÕs most electrifying performances, it remains a dazzling ode to the art of filmmaking.
