Speak No Evil (2022) Limited Edition Blu-ray

Directed by Christian Tafdrup, Speak No Evil is a chilling exploration of politeness taken to a horrifying extreme. The film follows a Danish family who, after meeting a seemingly friendly Dutch couple while on holiday, accept an invitation to spend a weekend at their remote home. What begins as an awkward but harmless social visit soon spirals into unsettling encounters, power games, and subtle manipulations.

As the Danish family struggles with discomfort and mounting dread, they remain bound by social etiquette and fear of offending their hosts. Their inability to assert boundaries becomes the very trap that seals their fate. Tafdrup crafts the story with slow-burning tension, escalating from darkly comic social awkwardness to unflinching horror in a finale that is as shocking as it is inevitable.

Speak No Evil is less about supernatural scares and more about the horror of human behaviorÑhow civility and compliance can be weaponized. It quickly gained international acclaim for its nerve-shattering climax and its brutal critique of cultural politeness and repression.
