Disc One presents the feature film in a 4K restoration from the original negative, with a 4K (2160p) Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), original lossless mono audio plus DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround audio, optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing, and multiple audio commentaries featuring Dan O’Bannon, William Stout, cast members, fans, and filmmakers. Bonus features include archival interviews and featurettes covering the film’s origins, special effects, music, locations, design, and its place in 1980s horror, along with deleted scenes, theatrical trailers, and TV spots.

Disc Two, a limited edition exclusive Blu-ray, includes a high-definition presentation of the 2017 feature-length documentary about the making of the film with extensive cast and crew interviews, A Conversation with Dan O’Bannon: The Final Interview, deleted scenes from the documentary, Return of the Living Dead in 3 Minutes, and Resurrected Settings: The Filming Locations Today.
