The film dramatizes the events leading up to and following the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in the town of Tombstone, Arizona, during the 1880s.

The story follows Wyatt Earp and his brothers—Virgil and Morgan—as they attempt to settle into peaceful lives in Tombstone. However, the town is plagued by a ruthless gang called the Cowboys, led by Curly Bill Brocius and Johnny Ringo. When tensions escalate, the Earp brothers, joined by the sick but deadly Doc Holliday, take a stand for law and order. The gunfight becomes a pivotal moment, leading to a bloody vendetta as Wyatt seeks justice for the attacks on his family.

Tombstone received widespread praise for its sharp dialogue, thrilling shootouts, and especially for Val Kilmer’s portrayal of Doc Holliday, which has since become iconic. Though not a major awards contender, the film is considered a modern classic of the Western genre and has earned a devoted cult following.
