About the film
Toy Soldiers (1991) is a teen-centered action thriller directed by Daniel Petrie Jr.
The story follows a group of rebellious boys at a prestigious prep school who are suddenly thrust into a deadly situation when terrorists seize control of the campus, holding the students hostage to bargain for the release of a drug lord. Among the students is Billy Tepper (played by Sean Astin), a troublemaker with a heroic streak who rallies his friends to fight back from within. As the military and FBI plan an external rescue, the boys launch their own covert resistance inside the school.
Blending teen drama with explosive action, Toy Soldiers offers suspense, camaraderie, and 90s-era thrillsÑthink Die Hard meets Dead Poets Society.
