The film
About the film
In 1989, after the huge success of This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me and The Princess Bride, director Rob Reiner collaborated with writer Nora Ephron, Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan to radically redefine the romantic comedy. Harry Burns (Crystal) and Sally Albright (Ryan) share a ride to New York City, and from the start Harry's bravado and Sally's innocence clash - particularly over the question "can men and women be friends?" Over many years of chance encounters, a deep friendship develops between the two.
With a timeless, Academy Award-nominated screenplay, career-best performances from its stars and flawless support from Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby, it's impossible not to love When Harry Met Sally...
