About the film
A cult horror classic that redefined 1980s splatter cinema, Re-Animator follows the brilliant yet deranged medical student Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) and his quest to conquer death. At Miskatonic University, he and roommate Dan Cain (Bruce Abbott) develop a glowing green serum that reanimates corpsesÑwith increasingly grotesque and chaotic results. Fusing outrageous gore with dark humor and biting satire, Re-Animator became a defining Lovecraft adaptation and a cornerstone of ’80s horror. Barbara Crampton and David Gale co-star in this visceral, unrelenting shocker directed with wicked energy by Stuart Gordon.
