The film
About the film
Directed by Lawrence Kasdan, Silverado is a spirited homage to the classic Western. The film follows four drifters—Emmett (Scott Glenn), Paden (Kevin Kline), Jake (Kevin Costner), and Mal (Danny Glover)—who band together on the road to the frontier town of Silverado. Each man carries his own past and grievances, but together they form an unlikely brotherhood.
Once in Silverado, they discover a community dominated by corruption and violence, led by a ruthless rancher and a crooked sheriff. The four must unite to fight injustice, defend the townsfolk, and reclaim a sense of justice in a land where law has failed.
With sweeping vistas, sharp wit, and rousing gunfights, Silverado revitalizes the Western with an all-star cast that also includes Brian Dennehy, Rosanna Arquette, and John Cleese. Kasdan blends nostalgia for the genre’s golden age with modern pacing, creating a film that feels both classic and fresh.
