About the film
I Saw the TV Glow is a surreal coming-of-age horror-fantasy from writer-director Jane Schoenbrun (We’re All Going to the World’s Fair), exploring identity, obsession, and the blurry line between reality and media. The story follows Owen, a quiet, isolated teenager in the 1990s who becomes fixated on a mysterious late-night TV showÑan eerie, supernatural drama called The Pink Opaque. Introduced to the show by an older classmate, Owen begins to unravel emotionally and psychologically, as the boundaries between the show’s fictional world and his own life start to dissolve. Atmospheric, experimental, and deeply personal, I Saw the TV Glow is less about plot and more about emotional resonance, disorientation, and queer self-discovery through the lens of pop culture and horror.
