I Vampiri (1957) is an Italian gothic horror film directed by Riccardo Freda, with uncredited direction from Mario Bava. It is considered the first Italian horror film of the sound era and a precursor to the Italian gothic horror boom of the 1960s. The film stars Gianna Maria Canale as the mysterious Princess Marguerite Du Grand, Paul Müller as Inspector Chantal, and Carlo D’Angelo as Dr. Julien Du Grand.
