The film

About the film

Point Blank is a landmark of modern American crime cinema, transforming the hard-edged gangster thriller into a bold, psychologically charged exercise in style.

Lee Marvin is effortlessly cool as the enigmatic Walker, who is betrayed and left for dead by his best friend following a robbery. Surviving against the odds, Walker sets out on a relentless quest for revenge and to reclaim what was taken from him. His journey brings him together with Chris (Angie Dickinson), a jaded ex-moll whose own complicated motives make her an unpredictable ally.

Director John Boorman turns Walker’s pursuit into something far stranger than a conventional revenge story. Shooting Los Angeles with a striking pop-art sensibility, Boorman uses fragmented editing, stark architecture and bursts of violence to create a surreal portrait of obsession, alienation and the existential dread lurking beneath the city’s sunlit surface.
