The film
About the film
A surreal spoof of Arthurian legend, the film follows King Arthur as he recruits knights—including Lancelot, Galahad, and Sir Robin—for a quest to find the Holy Grail. Their journey is fraught with absurd perils: a killer rabbit, a bridge of death, the indomitable Black Knight, and the bizarre Knights Who Say “Ni!”. Told in sketch-like vignettes and interrupted by meta-humor and animation, the film lampoons medieval tropes, British history, and cinematic conventions. Directed by Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, this cult classic blends slapstick, satire, and surrealism into one of the most beloved comedies of all time.
