The film
About the film
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), directed by Steven Spielberg, is a science fiction adventure about a gentle alien stranded on Earth. Discovered by a young boy named Elliott, the creature—nicknamed E.T.—forms a close emotional bond with him and his siblings as they try to keep him hidden from adults and government authorities.
As E.T. attempts to contact his home planet, Elliott begins to share a mysterious psychic connection with him, feeling his emotions and physical state. While scientists close in, the children race against time to help E.T. “phone home” and return safely.
Blending wonder, humour, and heartfelt emotion, the film explores themes of friendship, childhood loneliness, and empathy. It is widely regarded as one of the most beloved family films ever made, known for its iconic imagery and emotional resonance.
