About the film
Chicago detective Nico Toscani (Steven Seagal) is a former CIA operative and aikido specialist whose routine narcotics investigation uncovers something far larger. With partner Delores "Jacks" Jackson (Pam Grier), he pushes into a conspiracy that reaches back to his covert past — and toward ruthless adversary Kurt Zagon (Henry Silva).
Andrew Davis's taut action thriller marked Seagal's screen debut and helped define late-80s martial-arts crime cinema.
