Directed by Sam Peckinpah, Convoy is a gritty, action-packed road movie inspired by the 1975 country song of the same name. When independent trucker “Rubber Duck” (Kris Kristofferson) gets into a violent altercation with a corrupt sheriff (Ernest Borgnine), he leads a growing convoy of fellow truckers across the American Southwest in defiance of law enforcement and government control. As the convoy becomes a rolling symbol of rebellion, tensions rise between personal freedom and public spectacle. With themes of anti-authoritarianism, brotherhood, and counterculture, Convoy mixes Peckinpah’s trademark slow-motion action with 1970s blue-collar populism and rugged Americana.
