Hush follows Maddie Young, a deaf-mute writer who has retreated to a remote house in the woods following childhood hearing loss caused by meningitis. Struggling with writer’s block and isolation, she stays connected only through occasional video calls with her sister and neighbour Sarah. One evening, after Sarah returns a book, a masked killer begins stalking Maddie. Unable to hear her attacker, she must rely on sight, intuition, and her surroundings in a harrowing game of cat-and-mouse. As the intruder disables her power, steals her phone, and cuts off escape routes, Maddie adapts—fighting back with crossbows, improvised traps, and pure will. Told largely through silence, Hush uses sound design, lighting, and tension to deliver an intense, minimalist home-invasion thriller that flips vulnerability into strength.
