Perfect Days is directed by Wim Wenders, a renowned German filmmaker known for his works like "Paris, Texas" and "Wings of Desire." At 78, Wenders brings his unique perspective to this Japanese-German co-production, crafting a poignant narrative about the life of a Tokyo toilet cleaner.

The film follows Hirayama, played by Kōji Yakusho, who leads a structured and repetitive life as a public toilet cleaner in Tokyo. Despite the mundanity of his job, Hirayama finds joy in his daily routines, his love for music cassettes, books, and photography of trees. His life takes a turn when unexpected encounters challenge his routine and reveal aspects of his past.

Perfect Days received critical acclaim, winning the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the Best Actor Award for Kōji Yakusho at the Cannes Film Festival. It was also nominated for the Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards.
