As the Danish family struggles with discomfort and mounting dread, they remain bound by social etiquette and fear of offending their hosts. Their inability to assert boundaries becomes the very trap that seals their fate. Tafdrup crafts the story with slow-burning tension, escalating from darkly comic social awkwardness to unflinching horror in a finale that is as shocking as it is inevitable.
