When aspiring filmmaker Tim (Bastien Garcia) crosses paths with the eccentric Stéphane (Lucas Pastor), it appears to be the creative partnership of a lifetime. Claiming to be a seasoned special effects supervisor and stuntman, Stéphane dazzles Tim with his homemade pyrotechnics before convincing him to travel to his secluded private island to shoot an ambitious World War II epic. Joined by Stéphane’s acquaintance Bianca (Eva Gregorieff), a selectively mute refugee actress, the trio embark on an increasingly surreal filmmaking adventure. But as the production spirals out of control, Tim begins to suspect that Stéphane is hiding far darker secrets—and perhaps he is too.

Part found-footage, part psychological thriller and part razor-sharp black comedy, Stéphane is a bold, inventive piece of punk filmmaking that builds relentlessly towards a chilling finale and unforgettable post-credits sting.
