The story begins when a mysterious white goo is discovered bubbling from the ground. It tastes delicious, is marketed as a dessert called The Stuff, and quickly becomes a national sensation. However, people who eat it develop a dangerous addiction—and worse, The Stuff begins to consume them from the inside.

David “Mo” Rutherford, an ex-FBI agent turned corporate spy, is hired by rival ice cream companies to uncover the secret behind The Stuff’s success. As he investigates, he discovers that The Stuff is a living parasitic organism that takes control of its host, turning them into zombie-like shells.

Teaming up with a young boy who’s seen his family fall victim to the dessert and a marketing executive who helped popularize it, Mo tries to expose the horrifying truth to the public and stop the spread of the product.

A blend of horror, sci-fi, and sharp consumerist satire, The Stuff critiques 1980s corporate greed, advertising, and America’s obsession with processed food. Despite its B-movie roots and campy tone, the film has developed a cult following for its unique concept, practical effects, and social commentary.
