Videodrome Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD

Director: David Cronenberg

Combining the bio-horror elements of his earlier films while anticipating the technological obsessions of his later work, Videodrome stands as one of David Cronenberg’s most striking and influential creations — a film that is both visceral and deeply cerebral.

Max Renn (James Woods) is on the hunt for provocative new programming for his television channel when he discovers a series of illegal S&M-style broadcasts known as “Videodrome.” As he and his adventurous girlfriend Nicki (Deborah Harry) search for the source of the signal, Max becomes drawn into a shadowy world of conspiracies, sadomasochistic media experiments and disturbing physical transformations.

Blurring the boundary between reality and hallucination, Cronenberg’s nightmare vision unfolds through a series of shocking revelations and unforgettable body-horror effects created by Academy Award–winning makeup artist Rick Baker.

Praised by filmmakers such as John Carpenter (“he’s better than all of us combined!”) and Martin Scorsese (“no one makes films like he does”), Videodrome marked Cronenberg’s most mature work at the time of its release and remains one of the director’s defining masterpieces.
