Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) is directed by Adam Marcus, marking his feature film directorial debut. The movie stars Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees, John D. LeMay as Steven Freeman, Kari Keegan as Jessica Kimble, and Steven Williams as bounty hunter Creighton Duke. This installment in the Friday the 13th franchise was produced by New Line Cinema, making it the first in the series not distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The film follows Jason Voorhees, who is seemingly destroyed by a military operation. However, his evil essence survives, allowing him to possess different bodies in an attempt to find a blood relative and be reborn. Steven Freeman, an ex-boyfriend of Jason’s niece, Jessica Kimble, teams up with bounty hunter Creighton Duke to stop Jason once and for all. The film culminates in a final battle where Jason is dragged to hell, setting up a tease for Freddy vs. Jason.

Jason Goes to Hell did not receive any major awards but gained a cult following for its unique take on the Friday the 13th mythology and its shocking ending.
