The Breakfast Club 4K UHD The Criterion Collection

John HughesÕ The Breakfast Club is a defining teen drama of the 1980s, capturing the struggles and identities of adolescence with honesty, humour and emotional depth. The film brings together five high school students from different cliques Ñ Òthe brain,Ó Òthe athlete,Ó Òthe basket case,Ó Òthe princess,Ó and Òthe criminalÓ Ñ who are forced to spend a Saturday in detention together.

Over the course of the day, the group evolves from strangers to unlikely confidants, gradually peeling back the stereotypes and social masks that define them at school. Through arguments, secrets, laughter and moments of vulnerability, they discover they share far more in common than they ever expected.

With its single-setting simplicity, sharp dialogue and unforgettable performances by Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall, the film became an anthem for teenage angst and self-discovery. Its iconic finale Ñ set to Simple MindsÕ ÒDonÕt You (Forget About Me)Ó Ñ remains one of cinemaÕs most celebrated freeze-frame endings.
