The Breakfast Club 4K UHD The Criterion Collection US Edition

ohn Hughes’ The Breakfast Club is a defining teen drama of the 1980s, capturing the struggles and identities of adolescence with honesty and wit. The film brings together five high school students from different cliquesÑ"the brain," "the athlete," "the basket case," "the princess," and "the criminal"Ñwho are forced to spend a Saturday in detention together.

Over the course of the day, the group goes from strangers to confidants, peeling back the stereotypes and social masks that define them at school. Through arguments, secrets, laughter, and moments of vulnerability, they discover they share more in common than they ever expected.

With its single-setting simplicity, sharp dialogue, and memorable performances by Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall, the film became an anthem for teen angst and self-discovery. Its iconic endingÑset to Simple Minds’ "Don’t You (Forget About Me)"Ñremains one of the most celebrated freeze-frames in film history.
